About The Artist

My inspiration is rooted in a love of travel and adventure, and in responding to the people, cultures, and environments I encounter along the way. Each new place offers a spark — a moment, a feeling, or a fleeting connection — that becomes the starting point for my work.

Through vibrant colour and expressive composition, I explore emotion and atmosphere, seeking to capture “the moment” as I experience it. My paintings are a translation of what I see and feel — an interplay between observation, imagination, and interpretation — bringing to life my personal response to the world around me.

Bio

Born in Taiwan, Janet has lived across the UAE, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong before settling in Sydney, her home for over forty years. A lifelong traveller, she draws inspiration from the rhythm of different cultures and landscapes. Since retirement, painting has become her language of exploration — a way to express memory, place, and emotion. Dividing her time between Sydney and Umbria, Italy, she paints between two worlds of light, colour, and atmosphere.
